medwireNews: The US National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) has released new and updated non-English translations of its physician guidelines for several high-incidence cancers.
The languages covered include Chinese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish, and the tumor types include solid neoplasms, such as breast cancer and non-small-cell lung cancer, as well as hematologic malignancies, such as acute myeloid leukemia, B- and T-cell lymphomas, and multiple myeloma.
The NCCN has also provided a Russian version of its recommendations for managing immunotherapy-related adverse events.
“NCCN is committed to maintaining and growing a library of global resources to ensure that providers and patients have access to the most up-to-date standards in cancer care around the world,” said Robert Carlson, the Chief Executive Officer of the organization, in a press release.
Noting that “[n]early half of our registered users live outside the United States and many may be more comfortable in languages other than English,” he added: “Expanding the number of non-English translations increases the accessibility of this crucial information throughout Europe and other parts of the world.”
