Abstract
Prostate cancer is a major cause of disease and mortality among men, particularly in Western countries. In this chapter, we discuss the evidence surrounding specific lifestyle and dietary factors in the prevention of prostate cancer, with a focus on prevention of lethal disease. We provide global descriptive data around prostate cancer incidence and mortality, and summarize evidence for the following selected risk factors: genetics, obesity and weight change, physical activity, smoking, antioxidant intake, vitamin D and calcium, and statins.
