medwireNews: ESMO has released Clinical Practice Guidelines to aid the management of patients with small-cell lung cancer (SCLC).
The document provides key recommendations on all aspects of patient management, from diagnosis and staging to treatment, follow-up, and survivorship. The guideline authors also propose treatment algorithms for use in the limited-stage (stage I–III eligible for curative treatment), extensive-stage (stage IV or stage III disease not eligible for curative treatment), and recurrent settings.
The evidence-based guidelines, published in the Annals of Oncology, were developed by a multidisciplinary group of experts, who adhered to ESMO’s standard operating procedure for Clinical Practice Guidelines.
