medwireNews: ESMO has released a Clinical Practice Guideline to assist physicians in managing people with malignant pleural mesothelioma.
The guideline was developed by a panel of multinational experts in accordance with ESMO’s standard operating procedures, and covers topics ranging from diagnosis and staging to treatment and supportive care.
With regard to treatment, the guideline authors provide recommendations on optimal first- and later-line, maintenance, salvage therapies and palliative care, including immune checkpoint inhibitors. They also give guidance on the use of surgery as well as prophylactic, radical and palliative radiotherapy.
