medwireNews: A Clinical Practice Guideline for the management of bladder cancer has been developed by ESMO and published in the Annals of Oncology.
A multinational and multidisciplinary team of experts contributed to the guideline, which is “based on the latest available scientific data and the authors’ expert opinions.”
The document provides comprehensive guidance on diagnosis, pathology/molecular biology, staging, risk assessment, follow-up, and long-term implications, as well as the treatment of non-muscle-invasive and muscle-invasive bladder cancer, advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma, and upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma.
“These recommendations [will be] updated continuously in order to include results of the latest clinical trials,” write the guideline authors.
